![]() ![]() I asked the waiter and he said the hottest is very very hot and the second hottest is really hot also. It had 4 levels of heat for the sauces and being a heat fiend my eyes fell on the last 2. My son went for a basic bratwurst in a roll. My son who is a fussy eater chose this as we passed by. Visited when we had an hour an a half to kill. Would be happy to go back any time I feel a craving for burgers/schnitzel or hot dogs. They have a range of drinks in unusual combinations, the cola orange lemonade was quite refreshing. So even if you have a bit of a wait (10-15 minutes since I ordered schnitzel, hot dog orders were coming out much faster), it isn't a frustrating one (as I was seated at a proper table, within 5 minutes of entering, having ordered and paid) I'd rather be seated at a table waiting for my food, than standing in line outside a Food joint. ![]() Staff are constantly checking on you and have a natural smile on their faces. It's good and spicy, not one of those cop-out spicy. I also chose the chilli wurst with the hottest curry sauce on the side and that was so good, I can go back just for that curry sauce. ![]() I chose the pork and bacon option and it was absolutely amazing. (If indulging in carbs, go the whole hog). The pork / chicken schnitzel burger came with fries or salad, so fries it was. You order and pay at the counter from an overhead menu and if you want to eat in, they give you a number and deliver the food to your table. The menu has changed a bit from some of the pictures here on yelp. When I saw the burger schnitzel on the menu, I knew I had to have it, but I also wanted to try their famed wurst. So there was a queue, but it was moving very quickly and there was seating space. I quickly scrolled through my bookmarks & saw that Herman Ze German was around the corner and had larger seating space (2 floors) This was a great call as a lot of people also were taking their hot dogs away. There are plenty of options, but they are all overflowing. This was when I realised, Fitzrovia is not a great place to be hunting for a quick sit down lunch on a weekday afternoon. So I headed to the new branch of a local burger & chicken chain, which had a 50% off on food and hence also had a queue of about 40 waiting to be seated. A 4 hour American pop-up in London had me craving burgers, but not enough to stand in line for them. ![]()
